Your files never leave your phone. Reading, editing, scanning and text recognition in Vachora all run on your device. We do not upload, store, read or sell your documents, scans or text. We do not ask you to create an account.

Who We Are

Vachora: PDF Read, Edit & Scan ("the App") is developed and published by SyntheticCode, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information is handled when you use the App, and your choices. It is written to meet the Google Play User Data policy and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Your Documents, Scans and Images

When you read, annotate, edit, organise, scan, sign, watermark, compress, merge, split, convert, protect or extract text from a PDF:

Scanner and text recognition: Document scanning uses Google's ML Kit Document Scanner, and text recognition (OCR) uses Google ML Kit's text recognition. Both run on your phone. The first time you scan, Google Play services may download the scanner module over the internet. Your scanned pages and recognised text are not sent to us or to Google. Scans are saved to the App's private storage.

Information We Do Not Collect

Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores a few things locally on your phone: your recent files list, bookmarks you add in a PDF, settings (such as night mode and whether you have completed the welcome screens), and daily usage counters for the free plan. This information stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

Advertising (Free Version)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and app information, and ad interaction data. This is collected by Google, not by us, under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before ads are requested, and you can change your choice later in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads on Android at Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads). Pro members see no ads.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Payments are handled by Google Play Billing. We never receive your card, UPI or bank details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts and basic device information (such as OS version and app version) so it can confirm whether you have an active Pro plan and let you restore purchases. See the Google Payments Privacy Notice and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services Used by the App

Permissions

Data Security

Because your documents are processed on your device, they are protected by your phone's own security. Communication with Google Play, AdMob and RevenueCat uses encrypted HTTPS connections. PDFs you protect with the App use AES-256 encryption.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because we do not collect personal information ourselves, there is no account data for us to delete. To request deletion of purchase-related data held by RevenueCat for your app user ID, follow the steps on our Delete Your Data page.

Children

The App is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's information has been collected through ads or purchases, contact us and we will help.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us about any personal data processed in connection with the App, request its correction or erasure, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the App's release notes on Google Play.
